A casing scraper is a downhole tool incorporating a blade assembly that is used to remove scale, mud cake, cement sheath, embedded bullets, and other foreign material from the internal surface of a casing string.
The casing scraper is generally run on tubing or drillpipe, casing scrapers are routinely used during workover operations to ensure that the wellbore is clean before reinstalling the completion string.
Casing scrapers are manufactured from 4140 or 4145 alloy steel.
